Industry Demand
There are mainly two control modes for IGBT in welding machines: hard switching and soft switching. The primary difference between the two is that, theoretically, IGBT in soft switching do not incur switching losses, only conduction losses. In china, hard switching is currently mostly implemented using pulse transformers directly, while soft switching is predominantly achieved using mainstream soft switching technology. However, due to design circuit deviations and component performance drift, some originally designed soft switching technologies have become semi-soft and semi-hard switching welders. Based on test results and practical application experience, such welders are more suitable for using hard switching IGBT modules. welding machines use different igbt topologies, which are classified into full-bridge welders and half-bridge welders. Half-bridge welders use hard switching. The application of starpower semiconductor modules in welding machines is as follows: it utilizes a recommended default switching frequency of 20kHz, and operates with a three-phase 380V power supply.
